The Mentalist, Wheelchairs, And Scuffed Shoes

One of the television shows I enjoy watching is The Mentalist. If you aren't aware of the show, the main character resolves crimes by using his really rather acute sense of observation (not unlike Sherlock Holmes!). I was a bit annoyed by the plot's denouement with yesterday's episode.

I Nearly Killed Myself - Accessibility Hazards On Campus

I nearly killed myself this afternoon. Newish construction, flight of 4 steps, all concrete. But between the sun, and the angle I'm at, sitting in a wheelchair, I didn't see they were steps until I was nearly falling down these steps! I'm thinking, someone who has vision impairment would have had even more trouble than me seeing the steps.

Wheelchair User's Car Clamped - An Outrage

It's an outrage. The car of a wheelchair-bound woman was clamped, not once, but TWICE, reports the Waikato Times. Apparently the first time, the permit had fallen off the dashboard. This time, she left home with an expired permit by mistake. Her vehicle was clamped and she apparently had difficulties getting the clamped removed. It is indeed an outrage. I am a wheelchair user, and you might be surprised to hear I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for Mrs Adams.

All Wheelchair Users Look Alike, Don't They?

Children can be so funny sometimes, it's almost unbearable! I was at the supermarket and nearly wet myself I was laughing so hard. The poor kid that triggered laughter was not overly impressed though. Her mother thought the event quite funny.
