NZ Will Increase Online Service Delivery - Don't Forget People With Disabilities

The article "Hi-tech threat to public servants" on stuff.co.nz discusses how the New Zealand Government is planning on moving more of its services online and do away with employees more and more. The article mentions how such a move would impact elderly Kiwis and families on low-income, but does not mention at all how it would impact people with disabilities.

Disabilities And Purchasing Power

Today I tweeted that people with disabilities are the 3rd largest market in the United States according to the US Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). I admit, the news did not surprise me much. People with disabilities realise they have buying power, unfortunately, most businesses don't seem to understand that. I remember bumper stickers saying "I'm disabled, I vote, and I spend".

S92a, Recording Industry and Hypocrisy Impacting on People With Disabilities

But the issues at play most certainly may have a significant impact on people with disabilities if they come to pass. I am going to talk about New Zealand Copyright (New Technologies) Amendment Act 2008 , and specifically §92a.
